Winter Squash Casserole

6 cups mashed cooked winter squash
1/2 cup butter, melted
6 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt

Topping:
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup slivered almonds

In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients. Pour into a ungreased 13x9-in. baking dish. Combine topping ingredients and crumble over the top. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes or until a thermometer reads 160°. Makes 12 servings.
