Spinach Cheese Bake
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1-1/2 cups milk
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded process American cheese
1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1-1/2 cups soft bread crumbs
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon pepper
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter; blend in flour until smooth. Cook and stir for 1-2 minutes. Gradually stir in cheese until melted.
Add spinach, bread crumbs, eggs and seasonings; mix well. Spoon into an ungreased 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 6-8 servings.
