Sausage and Sauerkraut Casserole

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
1 pound bulk pork sausage
1 can (16 ounces) tomatoes with liquid, cut up
1 cup sauerkraut
1 teaspoon sugar
4 to 5 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese

Cook macaroni according to package directions. Meanwhile, brown sausage in a skillet,; drain, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings. Add tomatoes and sauerkraut to pork and cook for 2 minutes.

Drain macaroni; stir into skillet along with cheese. Spoon into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 minutes. Makes 4-6 servings.
