Gingerbread Cake
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup light molasses
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Heavy Whipping Cream, whipped, sweetened
Heat oven to 325 degrees. Combine all ingredients except whipped cream in small bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
Pour batter into greased 8 or 9-inch square baking pan. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into squares. Serve warm with sweetened whipped cream. Makes 8 servings
