Peppered Beef Soup - Gepfefferte Fleischsuppe
Gepfefferte Fleischsuppe is a hearty soup on a cold winter day. Serve this hearty soup with salad for a complete meal.
5 lb german peppered beef, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 onions, diced
1 cup dried red bell peppers, crushed
2 lb red potatoes, diced
2 carrots, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
1/4 cup oregano
1/4 cup sweet basil
1 tablespoons celery seed
1/8 cup caraway seed
1/2 cup dill weed
Place carrots, celery, and meat into pan, covered with water. Cook for 1 hour over medium heat. Add the rest of ingredients and cook an additional hour. Serves 4.
